I love this campaign from Element Skateboards for Earth Day! I used to live next door to Andy “El Beardo” Harris - one of the founders of the Channel Street Skatepark in San Pedro - and sometimes I totally miss being around that crazy, beautiful, super amazing place!! Channel Street is pure DIY jelly- Pedro wanted their own place to skate and they just went out and did it, picked up shovels, laid down plans to build, worked with all kinds of cities and agencies, and spent years with lots of broken bones and cement pours to make Channel Street a gnarly haven for skaters. So, April 22, Earth Day … not sure what you’re going to do, but if you’re looking for something cool, definitely go help clean up Channel Street, it’s underneath the end of the 110 freeway. And stop by Busy Bee while you’re at it!
